Structure Fires
Fire scene examination follows National Fire Protection Association 921 Guide for Fire & Explosion Investigations. The fire scene will be fully documented, diagrammed and photographed. Fire patterns will be read and described. The debris will be returned to the area of origin, when necessary to esstablish the fire cause. Based upon all available evidence and witness statements, an area of origin will be established and the cause of the fire will be determined.
An accurate fire cause determination can only be made when all the evidence in the area of origin has been examined. Our fire investigators dig down to the floor in the area of origin and examine all the debris, layer by layer. They examine the floor for evidence of flammable liquids that would indicate an incendiary fire. All the fire patterns are closely examined and evaulated.
Vehicle Fires
The burned vehicle will be inspected and described. The fire scene will be examined if necessary. The vehicle will be documented with photographs and any special equipment will be identified. Fire patterns will be read and described. Based upon all available evidence and witness statements, a determination of the area of origin and cause of the fire is made. If manufacturer failure appears to be a cause, a computer report of recalls and service bulletins can be obtained.
